Not the insurer

Digg Excavation Insurance is a licensed Colorado insurance agency. Policies are issued by insurance carriers, which make all underwriting and claims decisions. Coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the policy issued. Descriptions of coverage on this site say what a policy typically does under most standard forms. Coverage is determined by the policy language and the carrier. Nothing on this site binds coverage. A policy is bound only when a carrier issues it.

What Colorado requires of us

Under C.R.S. 10-2-701 and Division of Insurance Regulation 1-2-10 § 9, an insurance producer must register any assumed or trade name with the Insurance Commissioner before using it, and must promptly notify the Commissioner in writing of any change to or discontinuation of the name. (C.R.S. 10-2-701; 3 CCR 702-1, Reg. 1-2-10 § 9)

A Colorado insurance agency must itself hold a producer license (C.R.S. 10-2-406), designate a licensed producer who is an officer, partner, or director as responsible for compliance (C.R.S. 10-2-404(2)(d)), and notify the Division of Insurance within ten days of changes to its registered producers, name, officers, or owners. (C.R.S. 10-2-404(2)(d); 10-2-406(1), (3), (4); Reg. 1-2-10 § 8)

No online quoting, no chatbot

This site makes no automated coverage, eligibility, or pricing decisions. Every quote comes from a conversation with a licensed producer and a carrier's underwriting. There is no conversational AI on this site. Some illustrations are AI-assisted and are stylized on purpose; no generated image on this site is presented as a real person, client, staff member, or job site.

How we verify what we state

Every statute, fine, limit, class code, and date on this site is kept in one registry with its primary source and the date a licensed producer last checked it. Pages that state facts show a "last verified" line. Facts we could not confirm against a primary source carry a visible [VERIFY] badge until we can; there are 20 of those today. We re-check the registry at least twice a year and any time Colorado changes a rule. This is our read as contractors and agents, not legal advice.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about this agency that we haven't resolved, the Colorado Division of Insurance takes them: https://doi.colorado.gov/, 303-894-7499. We would rather hear it first: contact us.
